The NFL season keeps chugging along as Week 3 begins with the Green Bay Packers (1-1) hosting the Atlanta Falcons (0-2) at iconic Lambeau Field on Thursday Night Football. Neither team has quite performed up to expectations to start the new season, with both seeing their Super Bowl odds lengthen from where they opened. However, there’s plenty of time to change that, and it could start Thursday night for either team.
The Falcons should get a boost with third-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. returning from injury and set to make his first start since Week 11 of last season. Atlanta’s offense is averaging just 123.5 passing yards per game through the first two weeks, as the quarterback play has been subpar.
Third-stringer Cooper Rush has thrown four interceptions and lost a fumble this season, and things got so bad that the Falcons turned to fourth-string rookie quarterback Jack Strand mid-game in their 34-3 Week 2 loss to Carolina. Strand also threw an interception and lost a fumble.
The Packers also haven’t played their best football so far this season after blowing a 22-10 lead against Minnesota in Week 1, with Vikings backup quarterback Carson Wentz helping lead the comeback for a 39-22 victory. It didn’t get much better for Green Bay in Week 2 against a New York Jets team that entered the season with low expectations. The Packers managed just 199 total yards of offense and needed overtime to secure a 20-17 win.

The Stats Hub notes that Robinson has recorded 70 or more rushing yards in 10 of the Falcons’ last 11 games, and he has hit that mark in each of the team’s first two games this season. Robinson found success in both games despite the poor quarterback play and his team playing from behind. The Falcons were down 13-7 at halftime in Week 1 with Cooper Rush at quarterback and then found themselves in an early 10-0 hole after the first quarter and facing a 20-3 halftime deficit in Week 2, a game in which Atlanta eventually turned to its rookie fourth-string quarterback. Those factors are significant and show just how talented Robinson is even when things aren’t going well around him.
While the Packers held the Jets to just 67 total rushing yards in their overtime win last week, notably limiting Breece Hall to 1.8 yards per carry on 16 attempts, Green Bay’s defense allowed 107 total rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in its Week 1 loss to Minnesota. Robinson is on a different tier from any of the running backs the Packers have faced so far this season.

Christian Watson Over 72.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Going from the Falcons’ offense to the Packers’ offense, we now turn our attention to Green Bay wide receiver Christian Watson. The fifth-year wideout started the 2026-27 season with a bang, recording 147 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the Packers’ Week 1 loss to Minnesota. He had only 41 receiving yards in the Week 2 overtime win over the Jets, but he caught a touchdown and was targeted a team-high 11 times.
Atlanta allowed 221 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown to Pittsburgh in Week 1 before giving up 287 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns to Carolina in Week 2. Carolina’s Tetairoa McMillan caught five passes for 101 yards, while Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette each recorded more than 60 receiving yards.
The Stats Hub notes that Watson has recorded 67 or more receiving yards in each of his last four Thursday appearances. Taking it a step further, he has also scored at least one touchdown in each of his last four appearances, showing just how big of an impact he can have on the Packers’ offense.

Michael Penix Jr. is making his return at quarterback for the Falcons after starting nine games for Atlanta and throwing nine touchdown passes in 2025 before suffering his season-ending injury. London caught six of those nine touchdowns, including three in a Week 9 loss to New England.
